i think this is my first post from the states. i am back now…been back a week, and i think i am truly over jet lag now. yesterday i finally was able to make it past 11 without feeling overwhelmingly exhausted.

stayed with josh when i got back, came home for a few, and going to see josh again tomorrow. i am very thankful he likes his sword, cause after all the trouble and worry i went through to get it into this country, well, he better like his sword. lol.

um… need to start writing in some journal about madrid before i forget it all. i really had fun there. saw three flamenco shows, the third was just awful cause it was really touristy. but the first two were awesome. And i saw bullfight #2, but i didnt like it as much. dunno. it was cold and rainy, so that may have been a factor.

well, better get some sleep before the long haul to houston. not really a long haul, but i just wanted to say that.

wow. almost done in Salamanca. even if i am ready to move on to a bigger city, i will miss it here, and my family as well. they have been wonderful, and especially after hearing everyone else’s horror stories, i feel so grateful and lucky that i have a good relationship with mine.

we have a new visitor. Ronnie the cocker spaniel. Francisca’s son Javier and fam. are on vacation i think. So Ronnie will be here another week. He’s just the sweetest dog, and i taught him ‘’sit'’ in english. lol. just cause i can.

um, going to some local museums today. already saw a small clock museum that was free. beautiful clocks, some a bit gaudy for my taste, but it was neat nonetheless.

guess thats about all. gotta make it back for lunch.

Today is big strike day in Spain at least… saw two parades.. the second one had more people and more police, but nothing out of hand here. All i wanted to do was just get away and shop, but a lot or possible all the stores around here are closed, so i just came up here to sit at the computer. Will have to go soon anyways to go home and eat.

Tried to see a movie with friends, waited there about 45 min, but when no one showed up, i got the number of the girl who told me to meet them, and her host family said she went to the pool. Really glad i got a call not to go today.

Here’s to hoping for a good meal at least.

way behind on posting here. always so busy… trying to get through my books and short stories, and i have to write basically three one page essays pretty soon. not summaries as in Ļi like this book because, or this book is aboutī. im scared, lol.

went to a Bullfighting museum today after my book discussion with Laura. Museum pretty neat.

we went to Avila this past weekend, i liked it because that’s where St. Teresa de Jesus/Avila is from. and we studied some of her work last semester. I liked this castle we went to…had a room full of illustrated books, very pretty.

well, not much longer in Salamanca, heh. I am VERY ready for Madrid now. want to go see the big museums, go to classical concerts… get some real culture in. lol

it’s wednesday…time for another update. i dont always have time to wait to log on like i would like… and not a whole whole lot has happened lately, except we went to some little village to have dinner in an underground restaurant in a cave… called Bodega(s) i think. very nice and really neat. then we just went back to the Plaza for a bit, then danced some.

going to my first bullfight today! well, i know i will end up feeling sorry for the bull. how could i not, being animal science for 4 yrs. lol
missing Josh very much right now. can’t wait to come do something like this with him.

quick post today..went to Segovia..tourned an ancient monestary..15th cent. oh btw, disregard any jmisspellings..very tired now. and we toured a castle, too. had a lot of fun today but soo worn out. had the hike of my life going up this super narrow winding staircase to get to the top of the castle. beautiful view, though. oh, also learned that spanish people have their own Pig Latin, too.

well, better get home to eat…

TGIF for sure today. had my test…pretty sure i did well cause all we had to do was pick one story of the five we read, summarize it and then give our interpretations. i think i wrote about as much as everyone else, and i think almost all of us picked the same story, La Casa Tomada. i picked it just because i knew it the best, having already read it last semester.

so…will be going to the grocery store with Francisca today..she said she wanted to take me, so i bet i will learn a lot there..
Slept a lot yesterday and i think i am finally better. :) believe it is warminng up now.

alright…its going a little faster now. so i will try to write a little bit here before i go. i wish mom hadnt talked me out of long sleeved clothing because it is freezing and rainy here..and i jus thave a thin sweater-cardigan and a rain jacket, unlined.

had presentation today..well, half of it. we will finish before the quiz. i had a fever yesterday of about 99.5 F. but i think its gone today.

so, hope it quits raining and warms up soon!

talking to josh right now… went out to eat with my lit class to a tapas bar..well, actually the upstairs was more like a restaurant. hehe, we all thought people were saying ‘topless’ instead of tapas. it was pretty good. had flan for desert and i really liked it. gotta go…

So slow today! and by that i mean the connection. even thogh i can type now, it is still loading. whatever.
i am about to have to go home and eat lunch, which is crawfish today. wonder what itīs like spanish style. went to a bookstore today, and apparently they dont believe in alpha by author. So its organized by the publisher. Yeah, it took me 20 min to find two books.

time to go, will try to post tomorrow if i can log on.

ok..post #2…..i have iffy luck getting this to work b-c of connection speeds.. oh well. have to go now unfortunately, but will be posting about my trip soon. i can say though that so far ive gotten lost everyday somehow. but iīm learning my way around, and of course i am ok asking directions. i understand enough and speak well enough to get around.
